Deep love is not easy because it contains so much.
It is full of disagreements, howling laughter, hard conversations, genuine care,
plenty of tears, undeniable joy and the feeling of being truly seen.
You don't get the good without the tough stuff that helps you both grow.

Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) is an active, non-pathologizing, and client-centered model. At Red Crane Psychotherapy Group, we integrate the latest developments in neurobiology, attachment theory, and trauma-informed care into a warm, collaborative, and deeply relational approach.
Whether you’re stuck in recurring conflict, healing after a breach of trust, feeling the distance grow between you, or facing a major life transition, EFCT helps untangle the patterns that keep you disconnected—and guides you toward a deeper connection, and a secure, loving, collaborative partnership.
EFCT creates a path toward emotional safety, to knowing and being known, and to the kind of connection that sustains love through hardship and change.
For those in a new relationship, EFCT can help partners create a strong foundation, a shared narrative and experience of how to address differences, and a confidence in your ability to navigate the complexities of relationship through life transitions.
If your relationship has weathered the storms of life, and negative patterns of interaction have left you withdrawn from your partner, or worn-down and burnt out from pursuit, EFCT can help you stop destructive patterns, and understand the message not being said or heard. These deeper needs and longings become obscured from awareness because negative beliefs about oneself or the other make us communicate in more guarded and less vulnerable ways, perpetuating the cycle of distancing communication and distress.
De-escalating the "dance of distress," creating a safe space to hear your own voice as well as your partners, is a huge step toward lifelong change. The EFCT journey is not only the gateway to change, but also a evidence based therapy for deep and lasting healing.
In therapy, many couples rediscover the deep longing beneath the tension—the desire to feel seen, valued, and emotionally held. EFCT makes space for healing that is not only relational but also personal, helping each partner move from self-protection to openness, from fear to trust, and from isolation to intimacy. It is a profoundly moving process of coming home to yourself, and to each other.
In addition to the weekly therapy model, we offer a concentrated "boot camp" style of therapy.
Our Couples Intensives are built on the highly successful framework of Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT). The format for our Couples Intensives lets you achieve the equivalent of 10-15 hours of therapy over a condensed three-day to one-month period. This is a powerful alternative to traditional weekly 60-90 minute sessions.
This intensive "deep dive" allows you to intentionally break free from old negative patterns and create new, positive ways of interacting. It's a focused start to building a safe and secure bond, helping you experience the emotional presence, engagement, and intimacy you long for. A more secure bond empowers you to explore new emotional territory within yourselves and with each other, fostering curiosity, care, and compassion.
